1. I had the idea of a flip book that uses the frame by frame animation made in flash as its basic makeup. I would use screen shots from the animation as it moves to create my prints and design my book in that way. The project would not be done in a hand drawn aesthetic it would be very computerized and look very computerized. Vector art mostly would be used. I want it very color full and very vibrant. There is a video that i can't seem to find about walking up the stairs and its very simple and is using vector animation to create the look and feel. I would like to do something of that sort like making toast or some other thing that we do and don't really think about.
2. A similar project to the poster i printed off for project 15, but three large posters at 24 x 30. These posters will have an incredible high evolution and each one will show the objects and design pieces that I chose turned and fighting for position in the space. I want two print in blank and one printed in white, these would be the background colors of the three. With the hanging I want the White in the middle to show high contrast. I am thinking that chess pieces are going to be my objects of choice. The pieces would start off in line as they appear on the game board as the animation starts they will move forward slightly and than begin moving around the space intended. Like in a real chess games each piece will fight for space and I will try to show the interaction of pushing against each other to gain the advantage in the area presented. Almost like a war between the piece the white background piece will be the end of the war while the black background pieces will show the pushing and "war" as it is happening.
3. A fully realized portfolio sight that contains links, a resume, and all projects done the field of design. I want the sight to be very sleek and simple. I would like to be able to create a sight that i would be able to show to clients and employers.

What do you mean by "two print in blank one printed in white?"
ReplyDeletethe most logical seems to be the portfolio, I'm not sure about the second idea Id have to see/hear more.
How is the first one different from any other animation? If you want to hand draw an animation, flash isnt the best tool for the job but is great for bringing in a seperate mov and doing something interesting with it.
I agree with justin about hand animation and the possibilities of flash.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY like that you are returning to using real materials as your digital media--similar to your idea about the pastry shoppe that was never fully realized. I think you should definitely try to do some kind of animation with analog materials- like paper collage, and drawing...but maybe keep it less literal than a comic strip. Maybe it's just a nice abstract morphing of digital and analog images.
1) vector art is vague, it could be taken in many directions. Whats the importance of making the mundane important?
ReplyDelete2) Why chess peices? how would they fight? From description it sounds like they push eachother back and forth, how would this translate to still images if at all?
3) seems like all three of us think this is a good idea.
